    Martin….thanks for info. That sounds to me like a complete strip down in order to seperate inner and outer drum? A big job? However, no harm in trying and one learns from these things. A final point…I mentioned earlier about forward and backward motion of drum in relation to chassis…have checked with 2 other machines belonging to relatives and they show same movement so that seems to be okay. Again, thanks to all for help and advice.

    Thanks iadom. Checked drum with downward pressure….all ok and solid. However, with the door open and grabbing hold of the inner drum, there seems to be a bit of play (2-3″) movement when pulling the the whole of the drum backwards and forwards in relation to front and rear of washing machine. Will check this ‘play’ with another machine to see if normal. Have checked concrete balance weights and all appear solid, both visually and physically. Thanks again.
