Hi
I am assuming the main reason for the ice build up on the back is
the lack of air flow.I have taken the fan out and put it on an old 9v battery and the
fan does work. When trying the following I have put a magnet on the top edge of
the fridge and the light goes out so the fridge thinks the door
is closed. In the first instance I have tried warming up the thermometer at
the bottom of the fridge by holding in my hand. But the
temperature on the front of the fridge does not change. I have
also put a volt meter into the fan plug and there is no current. In the second instance I tried putting the thermometer in a box
with ice around it and again the temperature on the front of
the fridge did not change. And a again there was no reading on
the fan plug.At this point I was sure the issue was the thermometer.
However after a put everything back together and put all the
food back in the fridge the temperature on the front of the
fridge did change. Now I am at a loss.
What would be the steps to force the fridge to turn the fan on?
ThanksPeterW

Hi Bryan /All
Sorry for the delay but I had to get some time to check the model no
in the fridge but it is definitely a Model CBN-3856 Index 21 / 003
and the service nr / serial nr is 0976490-00.I was thinking I would just get two thermometers but if one is an
evaporator sensor. I guess I am looking at getting a “sensor pack”
for this fridge? Is there something like this? Also how do I test if the fan inside the fridge?
Thank you -
