just an update on this post. I know it was a while ago. My husband had a look at it and in the top rack there is a small ball that closes off whichever pipe is not in use dependant on the height of the rack. Around the ball in the pipe the plastic had melted and the ball wasn’t able to close the pipe properly so my husband took the melted plastic off and it cleaned properly then! Just wanted to post this incase it helps someone else. Now it’s completly had it though it trips out mid cycle and will not come back on for 24 hours. Doesn’t trip the main trip in the house just in the dishwasher. My husband had it to pieces and everything is working fine. so we have come to the conclusion that it must be the main board which i know is not worth replacing. So we are looking for a replacement dishwasher Don have you got any ideas. We want a fully intergrated dishwasher. We were looking at a fagor as it has 5 year full warranty on. No one on the forums have spoke much about this make is it because it is bad?! we don’t have much money so our budget is £3-400 I have found a fagor for £410 including delivery. Thanx for your help

what make would you suggest? Would our lovely metal baumatic door fit any other dishwasher?

I’m not going to waste any money on an engineer. my husband is an electrical engineer and is perfectly capable of fixing it. Would just be useful to know what to look at first and if you can get the parts for it. 10s of ponds is better than hundreds of pounds which we don’t have to spend. Would the pump be the best place to start looking?

Please can anyone help me the dishwasher is heating the water. Yesterday It didn’t wash anything properly even on the bottom basket. So we opened it up mid wash and the bottom arm was not rotating at all and the top arm was rotating very slowly. it did this every time we tried to put it on. However this morning we were trying to make it work. Trying different programs and turning it on and off about 8 times and all of a sudden it started working so now i have put it on the longest hottest wash to see if it cleans it properly. Anyone have any ides why it is intermittent and why it’s still not washing properly? Thanx

Thanx i have taken the spray arms out and cleaned them run vinegar and then water through them. I have put a full wash on with vinegar in again this it what my manual recommends. The inside of the glasses have less scum stuck to them but the outside still has some on. I don’t use 3 in 1 tablets i don’t like them! I do use tablets finish original powerball. I use finish rinse aid and finish salt. I tried cheap salt and rinse aid and tablets the results were rubbish. Having read the article on the link Do you recommend then that i use dishwasher powder instead? If so which one? thanx

Thanx ever so much the washing machine is now working. My husband had done exactly what you said turned the hot water supply off thinking that it would be ok on cold fill only. We are hoping that by having the hot water turned off that we haven’t knackered anything up. I’ve not checked how clean the washing is yet when it is dry because of all this rain my washing is taking ages to dry! Thankyou for the advice we will but the nessesary bits and put it to cold fill the right way!

thanx very much i will get my husband to check it tommorow. We used to have the machine set up to hot fill but changed it over to cold fill. It has both pipes on. The hoses aren’t kinked that’s one of the first things we checked along with the filter. The washing machine is pulled out into the middle of the floor! However I just checked and you were right helo 75 it was trying to top up with a hot fill i checked and the hot water supply was turned off. It’s currently running a number 5 program. I don’t understand why it was working before i will have to check with my husband tommorow if he had turned the hot water supply off when we swapped it over to cold fill he’s at work now. How do you set it to cold water supply only?
