Hello Penguin/Dave
I was wrong, I put the dishwasher on this morning and checked again after about 10 minutes, the element was again glowing but the other side this time (as I had swapped the element connections). This must mean that the is a faulty connection from the one side of the element or could it be a defective termostat that is not switching off the element? I have read a few posts were the wiring loom is faulty, could this also be the case?

Hi All
Update time: –
Just incase one end of the element was not connected corretly and the element was finding another route for the current I swapped the element connection over to see if the other end glowed red. As it happens it works perfectly now!! The other thing I have noticed is that there is more water in the dishwasher now as well. It may have been an air lock in water system casing lack of water to cool the element? Any thoughts? If it is not the case I will up date you.

Hello Dave
The bottom spray distributor is fine as far as I can tell, I have taken it out and forced water through it and it only come out of the spray holes. I am really at a loss at the moment as I do not know if it is supposed to get that hot? I would have thought not. I am also pretty sure that in this dishwasher the water does not cover the element. Any further advise is appreciated.

Well the part has come today and it is now fitted with now problem BUT where the element is supported in the dishwasher should the element touch the metal of the support bracket or should there be an insulator of some sort? The reason I ask is I opened the dishwasher halfway through a cycle to see if the water was getting hot and it was but the first part of the element was glowing red? is this correct, I have never open the dishwasher during a cycle before?
