Water’s not flowing out again too soon – it fills and then stays that way – but the bowl doesn’t seem to be “floating off spline”… didn’t realise it was supposed to, but it did seem to be that there was some room for movement there which I didn’t understand. However, it seems to behave the same way no matter what the load (even when empty), so I don’t believe it’s overloaded.

The pressure tube appears to be connected (there is only one, isn’t there?).

The lid never seems to lock. Could that be connected/causing the problem? Is there some point I can advance the program to which should always cause the lid to lock, and therefore provide a simple test for me of whether or not it’s working?

P.S. I also read in another post about the “air bell” and so am curious now what that is and what it does…
