She says there seems to be a partial blockage and has called the management company for the flats to come and have a look – arranged for Thurs.
Watch this space and thanks again.

    HI Dave,
Thanks, I’ve told her to check the outlet pipe for blockages – it’s shared with the kitchen sink. Waiting for her to come back to me.

My daughter has the same dishwasher, and has the fault involving 8 flashes. She’s cleaned the filter and the area below it where the sensors are I believe.
Could someone supply me with the details of how to run the service test program, please?
    Thanks in advance.

Ok, thanks. I’ll get him to check that or nip up there myself.

Actually been to see the m/c last night – the display is actually showing 21. According to Baumatic Tech. support, this is just a residual temp. indication. He has provided me with a reset sequence to try, so that will be attempted tonight.

Thanks for that, this is a strange one – my niece’s machine, but not her choice, it came with the flat. 🙁

Sorry about that, I’m only relating what I’ve found which is that the relay isn’t stuck. That’s why I did the last post. Thanks for the help, much appreciated.

Re: Indesit W161 lamp flash codes

Ok. All relays check out ok on the board. The driver for these is the uln2003a chip which is a darlington driver driven directly from the 6433642 cpu. They all c/o correctly when driven from the output side of the uln2003a. So it’s not the relay, and the heater and temp sensor check out ok too. The only thing left is possibly the edge connectors – I’ve cleaned these and reflowed them. If that doesn’t work then I have to assume that the eeprom program is corrupt? Unless anyone else has experience of this? Any comments welcome, thanks.

Re: Indesit W161 lamp flash codes

Well I traced the heater wiring and it connects to pin2 of connector CNH. This doesn’t connect to a relay but various other edge connections on other connectors – so back off the board. It’s a bit of a nightmare. But all the relays on the board do work correctly and are not stuck. I wish I had a wiring diagram, but I bet those are rarer than hen’s teeth.
It seems that the heater is switched on the neutral? The blue wire from it – BL1, connects to the brown – BL2, on connector CN1 via relay RL1. Why are they mixing up the colours like that? Crazy! 😕

I’ll trace the heater wiring back to see which relay it is. Thanks.

The info came from the above post. I checked all the relays and they all operate correctly with 9v on the coil and the relay contacts are good on nc and no contacts. Does this suggest the drive to the relay is faulty instead?
I found out today that it wasn’t the brushes as the motor does turn in spin mode, but never gets up to full speed as it enters the 8 flash ritual after about 30 secs or so.
Thanks for the info, by the way. Just have to look further into this.

    Thanks for any help.

Edit : Just found an answer elsewhere that suggests that the motor brushes are worn out. Anyone confirm? Can’t find it on this site. Thanks.
