Re: Cracked pan support on Bosch gas hob

Thanks for your reply – I thought it would be a cut and dry case of the faulty part being replaced under the guarantee too — but surprisingly the Bosch person said the pan support wouldn’t usually covered by the 2 year guarantee 😕 because an “accident” could’ve caused the damage. Nothing did drop on it though … I can only think the heat has made it crack?? Or it had a hairline crack already? They said they wouldn’t send an engineer out because it might cost me money 😕 … and suggested I sent the part back and they would test it to see if it’s a “manufacturing fault”. One of the reasons I bought Bosch was because of their reputation for quality … I have now gone back to the trader I bought it from and leant on them to deal with Bosch (they were reluctant, wanted me to do it). So fingers xd I get this sorted.

Has anyone had this problem with pan supports/Bosch before?

Many thanks Don – just to muddy the waters still further, today I saw a Neff oven I quite liked too (either the B1442 or the B1422) — would that be similar in quality and durability to the Bosch? Or am I really better going for the Bosch? Big thnks 🙂
