Thanks for the advice – I’ve decided to get a local repairer to come out and have a look. I’m a bit suspicious that they just said all those parts needed replacing so that they could get the call out fee without having to do any work. The insurance company probably get commission from Comet as well so it’s in their interests to get you to buy a new machine.

the cost of the parts alone comes to £180 so maybe I’d be better just getting a new machine, unless anyone can do it for less!?
