ParticipantRe: JLWM1203 E52 error
Thanks Dave, that seems likely. I was going to take the control panel out and check it over for hairline cracks but I couldn’t get the program selector knob off the from easily and didn’t want to break the switch. Do they just pull off or is there something retaining it?

Should also say that during the test cycle the display accurately shows the rpm of the drum so it must be getting output from the tachometer.

Ca anyone help please? I have a similar symptom on a JLWM1203. I get a sudden jump as the motor tries to accelerate during the wash cycle resulting in the drum doing nothing for the rest of the cycle or the machine reverting to the beginning of the cycle and then hanging. The trouble is it doesn’t always do it, sometimes it works fine.
Using information from this site (thanks!) I have run through the test cycle which all works OK. However, code E52 was stored on position 10, which is why I’m posting here. I’ve had a look at the tachometer which looks fine and I’ve measured the resistance across the windings which looks right as well. The magnet appears to be correctly screwed to the end of the motor shaft. After doing all of this I cleared the error code and did a trial wash. Same symptoms occurred but it didn’t report an error code.
The machine is 10 years old and I replaced the motor brushes a year ago and it’s run fine since.
I’m suspecting this is a fault with the control panel now as I can’t think of anything else.
Does anyone have any ideas before my wife demands we buy a new machine? 🙂Thanks in anticipation
