Well the engineer is due on Monday afternoon – so a week of washing up by hand :rolls: – and even IF he does say it is a fault of my own making and charge me the callout it would still be a darn sight cheaper than replacing the dishwasher 8)
I will also ask him to show me exactly how to clear the fan impeller myself as, according to the manual, we are meant to do this on a regular basis.

It is still under warranty with both Bosch and the company that provides extended warranty on all of our white goods but they both say that if they find any debris causing the problem then I will have to pay the callout fee of around £70 plus VAT.
Hubby took apart as much of the base as he could but still couldn’t access the fan impeller.
I’ve now been warned by a couple of people this afternoon that a piece of glass will probably be found even though I never put glass in the dishwasher and I will have to pay the charge full stop! I think that’s a slightly cynical view though……
