    Thanks guys,
In removed the pump intending to take it to a spare’s shop, only to see a white plastic object stuck behind the impeller.
Foreign object removed and all is well… pumping as normal.

Lesson learned, use a torch to inspect the impeller ! even if it seems to turn ok.

    Thanks again !

    Success !.
    the replacement thermostat fixed it.

Thanks a million Dave & co.

This machine has had daily use since 1999 and this was the first fault… Not too shabby for unit made in Huddersfield.
    Quite a low MTBF.

Great stuff Dave, you seem to know this one well!
I shall do that when the part arrives, it will save me a lot of time.

PS. the machine also is making a squeak sound when the drum is turning.
When I have it open next time, is there something I should grease or oil?

    Many thanks.

Yes I saw that one, just to the right of the motor.
I must say, it’s a difficult machine to dismantle, the drum is attached to the upper back-plate, which in turn is keeping the lower plate in place..
I has a bit of a struggle to get access, but got there eventually.

Thanks for the advice and link, I shall order one up tonight.

    Re: Siemens SE64630GB/13 won’t fill

Ok, after a few hrs of fault tracing I found the problem.

For anyone with a similar problem…

The inlet valve (aka Aqua Valve) went faulty due to iced up cold water pipe.
The faulty valve reduced it’s resistance from 4k Ohm to around 2k Ohm, doubling the current drawn from the control unit.

Over an extended period of time, this over current damaged a Triac power switch in the control unit.

I’ve ordered a replacement Triac for the control unit from Radionics. But unless you are framiliar with surface mount part replacement, I’d advise replacement of the complete control unit.

    From this diagram…
    http://www.siemens-eshop.com/eshop/siem … SHOPTYPE=A
I can see that there is a :
    Regulator – Water level.
    Pressure Switch Assembly.

Any suggestoins on how to tell if these parts are working correctly or not?

    Thanks…

    Re: Siemens SE64630GB/13 won’t fill

Follow up… I’ve verified that the old Aqua Valve was indeed faulty.
By applying 240v it on the bench, it would try to operate but no water would flow.

The new valve does operate as and I can blow air through when open.

However there is no voltage being applied to the valve when it is installed.
So the problem must be within the Dishwasher somewhere.

    Any clues?

    Thanks
