Thanks for the reply Andy. The engineer showed me the pump running smoothly whilst the machine was switched on so hopefully that shouldn’t be the problem.

However, I may have caused another one :rolls: . I inputted a diagnostic button sequence from another thread which made the drum spin but the original problem remained. I then sillily randomly held buttons when turning the programme dial which caused the machine to lock and then start after a few seconds without need for the start button to be even pressed.

Further random button bashing resolved this thankfully 😀 but it has put in my mind whether there is a method to reset to default settings that could sort out my original problem.(Probably wishful thinking I know 🙂 )
