ParticipantHi Calum… I’m in a similar situation. Trying to decide which will be a good replacement for our current gas only cooker. What did you decide on in the end?

ParticipantRe: Zanussi DF 102/3T Freezer ice build up (block?)
Both holes were cleared, blew down the holes with a pump and could feel the air coming through quite clearly.
However, after all that work, and cleaning it up nicely, it’s been on for over 12 hours and the fridge still doesn’t feel cold. I have a thermometer inside it and its reading 10 degrees which is way to high. Fridge is set to maximum too. 🙁
Any ideas what the problem might be or suggestions on what I can check?

Thanks John, have fully defrosted it now. I poured a bit of water down the hole but it didn’t go the compressor as expected. The one in the fridge area did, down the black tube at the back. What I’ll do it try push a bit of cable thru the one in the freezer and hope it clears whatever is blocking it.
In the compressor drip tray I found a flexible rubber type thing, looks like it attaches to end of a pipe, the one end is kinda flattened. (Sort of like the end of a whoopee cushion outlet.) Not sure if I need to re-attach that to anything?

Penguin45 wrote:Unplug it, then remove the lid. With the power off, the lock should dis-engage within a few minutes. If it does, you have a problem with the controls, which would be unusual. If it doesn’t, either the handle is broken or the lock itself has failed. The lock can be reached by delving down the inside of the machine and feeling for the point of the door latch – you can push it aside to pop the door. If you can’t, you will need to break the lock to release the door.
There are early and late versions of this machine, so if you do need to break the doorlock the serial number will be required to identify a replacement.
Thanks for the reply … we’ve got the lid off … just need to figure out how to dis-engage the lock now. It’s a tight fit in there. Will try the break in approach 😆

Ok, I’m stumped … just spent over an hour trying to figure this one out and could not get the door open. The door is not jammed, looks to be the safety lock that is not disengaging.
Any ideas or advise as I need to get the washing out before it goes mouldy 😆

Dryer fan Part no 268010200 is required .
Machine will work OK as a washer but the dryer will not work without the fan. Posibily time for engineer to check out machine to find out why fan broke up
POWER OFF BEFORE OPENING UP MACHINEMike
Hi Mike.. we don’t really need the dryer part working as we have a dryer already. However, it would increase the re-sale value if it was working.
Would you know more or less how much that part would cost perhaps? A ballpark figure would be fine. I searched the shop using that reference but couldn’t find it.Thanks… TJ

Yeah, that’s what we suspected. The dryer part of the washing machine was broken when we got it. We don’t really need the dryer so its not a problem.
Would that explain why it was not rinsing and draining properly? (Also why it doesn’t seem to take all the soap in the tray properly)
Thanks… TJ

I’ve uploaded the pics to TinyPic so they’ll only be there for 30 days. Unless they get a lot of hits for some reason 😉
The pics are not of the best quality but they should be ok to illistrate them things we found.
My wife had stuck them into a toilet roll to see if they;re a fan perhaps 😉
You can see some of the small white plastic bits that were broken off the filter also.

Mmm… time I got a better phone. :rolls:
Does it look like these could be from the something meant to be in the machine? … they have like a small 90 degreed angle lip at the end of them which you can barely make out… some are missing…
Thanks… TJ

Hi …
Okay, here’s what happened, we managed to get the filter out. Had to force it out which broke the filter a bit as there were a whole bunch of these metal pieces in it.
They’re around 60mm (2″) long and about 15mm wide. They’re not compltely flat (like half moons) and were about 13 or 14 of them in total.
I’m guessing that these must be some part of the machine… perhaps they are vanes of some type? Any ideas what these things are?I took a few shots with my mobile phone so if you need to see them then let me know and I’ll try load them up somewhere.
We did a test cycle with just a towel and it seemed to rinse and spin ok, but its early days.
Thanks… TJ

It sounds as though you do need to clean the filter.
If machine cannot pump out water it will abort the program.
To get the filter out you just have to unscrew it and pull , if its tight its because it needs cleaning, so have plenty of towells around. Thanks for the advise. I’ll give it a try tonight and let you know how I get on.
Cheers… TJ
