Are you saying this is normal then Martin? The fridge seems markedly warmer and even on a 5 setting doesn’t seem appreciably cooler. Also never noticed this before. I have to be honest I’ve lost a bit of confidence in the food quality and am thinking that replacing the 10+ year old fridge with a new one might be the best option economically anyway!

Sorted. TCO is located half way along ducting in between terminals of the thermostat…just couldn’t see it for the terminals! Should have though its a big red button!!
Thanks again for your help this has been cheaper to fix than I had feared!

Thanks for your help so far, if the thermal cutouts have cut out, how are they reset?
Sorry to keep asking questions just trying to get thoughts together before I tackle the beast!

Have checked and belt is still on but very perished. Still seems to turen the fan spindle though, I suspect on power it wouldn’t have a very good grip! Is the element likely to be damaged if the fan hasn’t been blowing cold air over it?

Thanks.
Had the oven out and tested the element (~20 ohms which was about the same for the new element I have spare). The only thing I noticed was that the foam type ‘gasket’ behind the element fixing plate was split but this may well have happened as I took the thing out! Anyhow I replaced this with the one off my spare and replaced the old element. Oven still getting hot but I’m not convinced it reached temp properly.
Where can I get or borrow a proper oven thermometer to check the temps?
