    Re: freezer alarm going off

Try this .. Might save you some grief. Turn temperature knob to reset. Turn appliance off / unplug it. Remove all contents, having contacted a friend / friends willing to store contents for you in their freezer(s) .. Chances are the freezer is defrosting because it thinks you have not closed the door. .. It may simply be the seal has become squashed / compacted .. Allow time to defrost the freezer. Use a hair dryer on low to medium setting (you do not want to melt plastic) running this around the door seal to allow it to puff back up again. You may need to pass the hair dryer around the seal several times (but don’t overcook it). Now set the temperature gauge back to its normal setting. Reconnect / switch freezer back on. Allow min 3 hours. Then check freezer is doing its job, by placing a half filled container of water on middle shelf and wait. Hopefully you will find it is freezing as it should and you then have ice. Hopefully the alarm is also no longer going off. I the alarm persists in going off you will need to try something else.
