I think you’re right. I have taken the front off, and can see the actual process of (i) pumping out first, (ii) then filling (I measured approx 1ltr of water), (iii) then the motor starts, hear a whirling, then stops, beeps, and lights 1,2, & 5 appear on the panel.
So it probably is a float/sensor issue, and as where ever the sensor/float is its not obviously at the front..
We inherited the machine when we bought the house a month ago. My guess it maybe over 10 years old, although probably not used very much as she was elderly and most recently in a nursing home.
If you was me, would you cut your losses and replace, as these integrated units are a bu…r to work on?
