Re: Whirlpool American Fridge Freezer broken down – help!

    HI,
we had our 7 yrold whirlpool repaired 3 wks ago.
The engineer replaced all the capacitors on the rear board. It was fine for 2 wks but now it is leaking water from the bottom, the top of the freezer dept is not freezing, there is frost lower in the freezer and it is running constantly. Will a rear board change cure this?
Any help appreciated aswe are just about to clear the freezer out! 🙂

Hi we have a Whirlpool american style fridge freezer which is 7 years old.
About 3 wks ago we had the capacitors replaced on the rear board to stop the chattering and defrosting.
This worked until 2 days ago when the display on the front stopped showing the -18,the motor is running all the time and it has started to defrost.
Will we have to have the whole board replaced or can we get it tested and repaired.
Whilst we appreciate the unit is 7 years old it is otherwise in excellent condition and dont really want to spend £1000 on a new one,but how far do we go replacing bits?
