😕 The Hotpoint BF71 does not have a timer, it is a fully push button, electronically controlled machine.

Hmm…perhaps your definition is different to mine. It has a programmable delayed start which can be set for up to 23 hours. That’s a timer in my book.

Just to add to this that we have a Hotpoint badged fully integrated dishwasher that I remember was stamped on the back as ‘made by Bosch’. Hotpoint model is BF71. We bought Hotpoint as we wanted a fully integrated machine with a timer and bizarelly Bosch didn’t offer one, even though they were building one for Hotpoint!

The date code is FD8004 which translates to April 2000 and so falls within the range Bosch are recalling.

I called Hotpoint and got the run-around and denials that others have said and they were particularly confused that they couldn’t find the BF71 model number on their system. Anyway, in the end talk of ‘fire’ seemed sufficient that they would send an engineer out and he arrived today as promised and on time.

He was baffled too – seemed unaware of the Bosch recall issue so called base and went through several levels of backup until he got to someone who knew what to do. Just the same experience as a previous poster, he took the control board out, decided it was fine, put it back and put the green spot on the inside of the door.
