Thanks for the reply Electrofix.
The event sequence is as follows:
1) At the start of the cycle, it pumps out successfully (I added some water to make sure that it manages to get pumped out, and it does)
2) Then the pumping stops.
3) After this, a single beep sounds
4) Two beeps sound and what I think is the main motor kicks in for a brief encouraging noise, which stops immediately (with a beep) and repeats (two beeps, motor kicks in, stops immediately, single beep). So this corresponds more to the “starts main motor as its filling” as you described.
