Hi, It is just a cold wet wall in the back of the fridge [with a drainage hole in a V-shaped bit at the bottom of the wall], that is frosted on the LHS but fades away as it goes across towards the RHS,What does this mean? How hot is very hot on the compressor? I can put my hand on it without burning myself but it would get uncomfortable to leave it there for very long.It is slightly hotter than the temp that my wireless router runs I know that this is not related but might give some defination to how hot? I don’t know if this is hotter than before as I didn’t spend a lot of time feeling it until it already had a problem so I don’t have any reference point for comparison.Thank you for replying it makes me feel better that I might find out what is wrong and whether or not it is worth fixing before I end up spending loads of money on it and then not being able to afford a replacement,[credit crunch cash shortage! ] Ruth.

Hi
Thank you so much for replying. Unfortunately the thermostat is at max so I can’t turn it up and I can’t find any vents in the fridge but it seems to have an evaporator pipe going up from the freezer behind the back panel of the fridge so I am assuming that this is what cools the fridge but I don’t know enough to be sure? Maybe there is some kind of regulator in there? The one piece of good news is that the fridge temp has now gone down to 6 C so maybe it is fixing itself! This is the triumph of hope over experience !But thank you for your kind wishes.
