ParticipantRe: Hotpoint aquarius WD640 not drying
Well thought I would post an update – problem solved.
I managed to fix my original inlet valve by removing and refitting the pressure reducing piece on the valve to the condenser.
Fortunately I was not so ham fisted as to break the wires…so all good there.I did a bit of testing to find out the difference between the parts.
The only difference (apart from the subtly different keying for the solenoids) is that the flow on the valve to the condenser is about half on the correct part for my machine, so I think with the wrong part on it was just flooding the base of the drum allowing the clothes to get wet again.Cheers for the advice, the correct part number was especially useful as I had no idea how to find the correct one 🙂

@andy – Have checked the waste, water is coming out correctly all through the drying cycle
@iadom – The part number you showed is spot on, annoyingly the part I have is C00110331 so that is why I had to move the solenoids around…(I just assumed it was the same part that might have changed somewhat due to the machine’s age – only found this website today). The wire order is definitely correct as I photographed it (incidentally the colours are orange white blue from front to back), and the correct solenoid is being activated as I can feel the pipe moving when the dryer is activated.
I’m guessing having the wrong inlet on won’t do it any good…although they look pretty much the same to me when placed side by side.
