    Jim,

Just to let you know that I have sourced a replacement NTC probe and it seems to have done the trick; all appears to working as before.

Many thanks for your help and advice.

    Sam.

    Great, thanks Jim.

I’ll get one on order and fingers crossed it’ll be that and not the pcb!

    Cheers,

    Sam.

    Hi Jim,

I’ve finally managed to get hold of a multimeter and have conducted a test. At room temperature (approx 20C) the reading was around 5.5k as you suggest it should be. I then dipped the probe in to iced water (5C) for 1 minute and re-tested. The reading was around the same. Finally, I dipped the probe in to 90C water for 1 min and took a further reading. The result was slightly more varied but settled between 4.5 and 5k.

What would you expect to see with a faulty NTC probe? My assumption is that because the resistance barely changed that there is a fault. I’m not sure what it should rise or fall to, perhaps a few k either way?

Unfortunately I don’t have a continuity tester so don’t have a result for that.

My plan dependent on your advice, will be to source a replacement probe. I’m struggling to find one at the moment so this may be harder than it sounds. Do you know of anywhere that might stock them?

    Best wishes,

    Sam.

Thanks Jim, and yes I did mean 1 green flash.

I’ll remove the temperature probe and test it. Will let you know how I get on. Just to confirm … does it sit in a rubber grommit/gasket and is it about an inch long going in to the duct?

    Thanks for your advice.

    Sam.
