Thanks for your reply.
I’d love to take the manufacturer to court as I agree that it’s not really the retailers problem, although you can argue that the retailer should refuse to sell known poor quality products.
The problem is I am unable to take the manufacturers to court under the trading standards rules, I can only take the person or company who sold me the sub-standard goods to court under the small claims process.
The point is the first fridge freezer I bought for £180 around 9 years ago is still working fine in our utility room, the integrated one I splash out £450 quid on breaks down with an unrepairable fault after 20 months and I’m told it’s out of warranty and the extra cover I’ve taken out on it doesn’t cover beyond economical repair faults. I think i’m within my rights to claim compensation as I’ve had to fork out another £650 for a replacement fridge freezer.
I would be interested to learn more of the ‘fridge evaporator leak’ you mention.

Thanks for that but I’ve already followed that route and they aren’t particularly interested!! In fact we’ve actually bought a replacement fridge freezer now but we are taking the retailer to small claims court as they are also uninterested in our plight. After looking at the evidence we have I could do with a copy of this bulletin to just strengthen up our claim.
