Re: Indesit IDL 705 Error codes

i’ve carried a few test runs today without detergent and no problems.

however, as soon as i add a detergent tablet (3 in 1’s are all i have at home right now) i get a leak from the from the right hand lower corner on the door side.
A closer examination has shown that the leak is actually detergent foam which appears to be rising above the level of the bottom of the dishwasher compartment, and is making its way through a gap between the seal and the door.

i doesnt leak much, but I guess if you run the machine quite a lot, like i have been recently then a buidlup of water could occur and trigger the polystyrene float switch to trigger.

either way, if i cant get a detergent tablet that doesnt foam up as much as the combined tablets I’ll probably have to stop using the machine for safetys sake.

    hi jim

took the base off the unit this morning and discovered the flood microswitch was activated.
This was due to the polystyrene float being damaged and out of shape(not sure how that happened?)

I’ve replaced the float with a homemade version, it doesnt look pretty but its worked the few times I’ve simulated a flood (on the kitchen sink!)

Looking closer at the base plate there does seem to be some water staining so it looks like you hit the nail on the head there.

I’ve got the unit on a test run now, hopefully it should complete with no further fault.

Thanks for your help, i was ready to get the marigolds out and start doing it all by hand!

    P.S

whilst we’re on the subject what do fault lights 1 + 3 illuminated mean? I had that one a few months ago and it disappeared after isolating the dishwasher for an hour, could it be connected to my existing problem?

either way I’ll look at changing the dishwasher tablets.

    many thanks again

Edit : thanks for the reply jim

I’m absolutley certain that the base was dry when i took the base access panel off, I’ll recheck the polystyrene float tomorrow to make sure its not been propped up during my re-install

There was also no apparent water leakage on the wood floorboards underneath the unit as well, there was some water ingrees when i removed the left hand side panel, however this appears to have come from some kind of water flow detection/inlet chamber (which has a small open hole on top) which probably leaked when I tipped the unit to access the base.

I’ll let you know what happens, plug out always =)
