ParticipantRe: buying robust freestanding electric cooker
Dear Don,
I appreciate your quick response , advice and knowlede.
A quick question for interest; When was the president discontinued, do these numbers tell us!.
serial 61200010 product 948 5170 75.?
I believe the 2nd hand guy buys from MOD which is why cooker had never been used and was new, so proberly storage the problem.
If the president had lasted 5 years with enamel intact, at the price I paid I would have been happy.I assume theers nothing cosmetic I can do apart from let all fall off and Hammerite it ; I Joke!
this cooker I will leave to be used till have to change, as it in a London style with courtyard exterior wall. Kichen with high humidity due to breakdown of tanking done 5 years ago with 30 year guarentee,!! I am thinking of installing a air to air exchanger to reduce the water content. ie when CH not on feels a bit damp.
Now thats a interesting read at http://www.kair.co.uk . I digress.
What is Working LIFE of a cheap and cheerful and throw away cooker.??For cooker I have to change in totally upgraded house.
Taking into account what you have said, At moment I am thinking of buying a Beko D532 solid hob and appears to have glass fronted doors [which can’t go rusty] this is £230 plus fitting. theory is, that if lasts 5 years thats less than a £1 a week. Longer a bonus.
.Have a week to physically see it and get organized.
Any thoughts if not thankyou very much
