ParticipantRe: Indesit WG1034T leaking
Update:
The Comet man just came out. He didn’t talk much, but after tilting the machine and looking at it for about 5 seconds said “Dinnae use this machine, it’s knackered” which was actually really nice to hear considering all the rubbish we’ve put up with over it.
Bez, you were right 🙂 The sheet the man gave me reads “Tub seal gone leaking onto motor also suspension leg ripped out of position on cabinet leaving large hole in cabinet. Requires tub motor cabinet.”
He mumbled something before running out of the door about us getting a new machine, so I’m happy with that. Shame it’ll be another Indesit, but as long as it doesn’t pee on the floor I don’t care.
Thanks again everyone for the help.

Thanks very much, I’ve told the landlord that it isn’t rotating but that it’s draining, so hopefully that’ll encourage the repairman to bring a new motor.
It turns out that the landlord has moved the washing machine into our flat from another, so the policy isn’t registered to the right address. Therefore, I can’t even get an engineer booked until they sort that out tomorrow 🙁 Interesting that that has never caused problems before, and also that the certificate of insurance we hold has this address on it.
Anyway I guess that’s not really relevant right now. Thanks again for all the advice, I’ll let you know what happens when we finally get someone out to look at the machine. And I promise to act assertive 🙂

Thanks, you’ve been really helpful 🙂
I don’t know when the engineer will be here (landlord being super-slow due to holiday) but when he shows up I’ll try to be as assertive as possible and suggest this. If he won’t listen, as I am just a girl, I’ll suggest he calls you.
Any idea how long this will take to fix? My flatmate and I both have a bedroom-full of dirty clothes but the laundrette is a whole 200 yards away so it’d be good to know whether the walk is worth it, hehe.
Thanks again, I’m really excited to hopefully get a working machine at some point.

I apologise, I should have given the full product number from the label on the back, which is WG 1034 TP G. Unfortunately the landlord has a 5 year service warrantee with Comet, which only expires in February, so until then it’s Comet I have to deal with.
Thanks again, I’m guessing that there’s no one problem it’s very likely to be, so I’ll just wait until the engineer turns up and hope he takes me seriously.
Cheers.
