    Re: Neff U1451B0GB/05 oven handle

Mystery solved – there is a very thin gasket between the metal inner and the glass, which must have heat/grease welded itself. I applied a bit of brute force and ignorance by running a Stanley knife inside the glass and the two halves came apart. I did damage the gasket a bit by doing this, but it’s gone back together allright and will hopefully be ok – the gasket looks like it’s bonded to the glass side. By the way you do need to take the hinge screws out, as the bottom of the hinges slot into brackets which are glued to the glass. Probably when new you can then slide the metal inner downwards (towards the hinges) to get the halves apart. Thanks for giving me the confidence to do this – I was convinced they were glued!
    Cheers

Thanks – I’ve definitely got all the screws, if it’s just grease any tips for releasing it? I don’t want to use too much brute force and break the glass! Ps found a video online for a Neff oven door which has 2 extra screws on the bottom edge which my one does not have, that’s what made me think it might be bonded.
