Re: 2 different error codes on my Hotpoint WD640 (p?)

Thanks again for getting back to me Jim.

You are right about low temperatures and liquid detergents, that’s exactly what I do (think most of our clothes are 40 degree wash stuff!)

Also, I’m more inclined to go for just a washing machine next time, I can count on one hand the amount of times I’ve used the dryer this year, I tend to line dry, or use the radiators and a clothes horse, so urgent stuff could either be done using the rads’ with the temperature turned up, or rely on good old Mumsie and her turbo dryer!

Thanks again for all your help, much appreciated.
    Have a great weekend
    Lou 😀

purfect fix is to change the board 😀

Or change the machine, now that is perfect.

Don’t forget that if it is under 5 years old you are covered for the cost of all parts, you only have to pay the ‘modest’ labour charge. :rolls:

Thanks iadom, will given Hotpoint a call – this is our second machine in 3 years (the first one gave us SO many problems in the first year, they gave in to my demands of a new one in the end, and now this one is also giving us headaches)
Will the labour charge cover a new door seal and detergent drawer….may as well be cheeky and get the lot changed.
Also, is the labour charge a hourly rate, or a set fee?

And finally, when I can afford to replace this wretched machine, what brand would you advice?

Sorry for the barage of questions, and thanks for all your help, much appreciated
