Just in case it helps anyone, I pulled the gasket out a bit and used some Fernox LSX to hold it in place (on the sides only), added a couple of strips of aluminium exhaust tape to the door where the two meet and the leak has been cured.

Thanks Dave,

Unfortunately not on this one, the strike is fed into a metal brace and is a one piece that catches the door.
