Re: Erratic top oven temperature behaviour – Neff U1661?

K.Thank you. There’s no airflow from the vents above the door aperture. I guess the fan is either choked or worn out. I’ll investigate next Saturday morning, it’ll be the first chance I get. Thanks again.

I’ll report back if I fix it OK.

    Regards.

    Steve.

    Re: Neff U1661 Oven.

I’ve managed to repair my Neff this morning (a loose wire on the upper oven control unit!). Having looked again at the Neff this morning, I don’t suppose the actual build quality is “too” bad. Many thanks, I enjoyed my Cheese on Toast that was my test piece!

Re: The best long term buy?

wsts, Thanks. That’s a good tip. Having looked at the prices of Miele, I can get two Neffs for the price of one Miele. I’ve managed to repair my Neff this morning (loose wire!) and I’m not sure a Miele is worth two Neffs. I think it would be a toss up on that score. Having looked again at the Neff this morning, I don’t suppose the actual build quality is “too” bad. Thanks, Happy New Year.

eastlmark, I’d guessed as much. I will look seriously at the Miele’s before buying again. I’m hoping I can get the Neff going again though ❗

    Thanks. Happy New Year ❗

    Re: Neff U1661 Oven.

My thoughts exactly. I wasn’t sure which unit it was in the parts book at Neff’s website. I’m going to clean up the unit contacts and lubricate it, if that doesn’t work I’ll regard the £150 to £180+ (depending on which unit was the correct one at Neff) thus saved as a down payment on a new one. Thanks.

All the best for the New Year.

Re: Neff U1420B Oven Fan Sticking – HELP. IT’S CHRISTMAS!!!!

Shouldn’t disgree with the experts, but on a U1661 (same arrangement?) I notice when the fan starts to get a bit sluggish starting up. I then strip and clean and relubricate it. Kept it going 7 years like this. It gets a build of of cooking fat behind the fan that slowly clogs it up. HTH.

Many thanks Penguin45, yes the machine is spinning away perfectly happily.

£61.30p for the brushes in the cartridge assembly. Looking at the one I removed, I’m thinking I can get some standard carbons and refurbish the unit myself ready for when it needs replacing again in another 6 years! Anyone know if suitable carbons are available?

Re: Miele W970 Fault on spin.

Thanks Penguin 45. I have had the front door open today to check all the electrical connections. It didn’t seem very easy to get to the motor. In fact I couldn’t actually see the motor, there seemed to be some sort of plastic shroud/shield in front of it. I’m guessing that since the rear panel doesnot come off and that it is very difficult to get to from the front, then if I turn the machine upside down access will be from underneath? I’ll need a crane to turn it over! LOL.

Many thanks. If I call Miele, I bet they want to sell me a new motor.

Re: Liebherr Fridge Compressor Not Running.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions. The OEM parts are cr*p quality then, despite the sky high prices of the fridges. Typical. I should be able to get a non-OEM thermostat locally, if I can’t, I will certainly mail you.

I have a matching Liebherr Freezer, I might just change the ‘stat in that too as preventive maintenance ❗
