    Re: Indesit 1500 WIL 153

I seem to remember a TV programme called ‘Stig of the Dump’ if that doesn’t give you a clue then nothing will. 😥 You have a budget priced machine with budget quality. Have pity on the poor soul who has to try and repair it for you.
It may only need a new belt this time, the stretchy belts do come adrift and a new belt is the only cure.

If and when you come to replace this machine. pay a little more for something of better qualtiy, the old adage ‘you only get what you pay for’ is very apposite in this case. 😥

    Jim.

    Hi Jim
This machine is insured up to 2009.
Should we throw the machine away with the insurance and start again?
If a washing machine is sold in a well known shop, brand new with insurance offered should we only buy it if the price is over say £400.00?

I feel that if it is offered for sale brand new it should last a couple of years even if the price is as you say, low.

We have had Indesit machines before (without insurance) and I just needed to change the brushes from time to time, and they lasted very well and never needed any other work.
Our last machine was a very expensive one (Top brand) that lasted just over the year and that is why we looked for another Indesit.

Too many people say “You get what you pay for”.
I say “whatever you pay, you should get good value”

I have now checked the machine and found it has a belt fitted.
The belt that I found behind the machine was obviously left by one of the other fitters, after fitting the new motor or the new bearing (2 bearings have been fitted).

I have never heard of a confused washing machine before.
