    best way to get scale out of heater is to run it on normal wash using a descaler, otherwise take heater off and scrape scale off inside of tube. when fitting tube heaters fit with the connector facing as far down toward the base as possible,as the trip can go off if too high.

    if you get a build up of scale on the heaters of these machine they will error on the drying cycle,giving you a heating fault, there is a a trip on the heater that goes off if it over heats, have had a few of these recently, changed heater no recall,but you should be able to scrape the scale off

    usually water in the base if the pump runs continuously, check the drain hose has not melted on the heater
