Opened up the casing and the inner fan blade literally dropped of on touching it. The holding nut had worked it’s way loose. Gave it a good clean and reassembled…all good now and temperature ok too!!
So because this fan was not dissapating the heat as intended, the heat remained concentrated in one area, overheating the oven and thus blowing the TOC….am I correct??
Thanks again guys!

Back again!!!! Used oven for the 1st time since changing TOC..Tried cooking some cookies for the kids. Semi cooked at the recommended time.
However on turning off oven the inner fan enclosed by the heating element appears to rattle and clunk (metallic sound as if hitting against something) before coming to a halt.
When switched on no sound heard. Will take off the inner covers and inspect when free. Any ideas on what could be the cause.
Thanks again!

Hallelujah! Joined spades together…fan running oven heating up!!!
I will order the part and hopefully won’t blow out quickly again…otherwise, back to the drawing board.
I’m ecstatic…Mrs not happy…she wanted a self cleaning oven!!!
Thank you Dave & Martin…Diamond Geezers!!

Thanks. Yes I checked for continuity with a digimeter…the reading remained at 1. I would like to “bridge it” to confirm but was not sure how to do it…thought I might do some damage!!
Is it a case of touching the 2 spade paddles together (obviously holding insulated wires), whilst the power is switched on and see if oven/fan starts to work?
If it is the fuse would there be an underlying reason why it blew?

I hope these photos are better. Tried finding the TOC to no avail. Checked thermal fuse for continuity – no reading. Is it worth changing this? Any ideas where I can find the TOC?

ParticipantRe: Oven not working..grill ok.
I was trying to source TOC..already got a new selector switch.
The TOC is near lamp housing? Or located in there?..its quite charred around that area…is it ok to pull the insulation away?
I’ve googled to see what one looks like…hoping looking for the right thing!

Sorry couldn’t upload decent resolution…was up early hours trying to!! Thanks for your advice Martin. I did notice that there was burnt, brown marks near the rear side of the oven lamp holder…but thought a lamp holder will not cause these symptoms!! Now to find this part….the oven selector switch was a right PIA as the part was obsolete.
(I’ll see if I could replace the photos!!)
