Re: Liebherr Fridge Freezer Temperature Problems

Thanks ELDAR59, it did not overflow but I will empty some of it out. The machine appears to be working perfectly fine now, though I will be keeping a close eye on it!
I wish I had spoken to you before I paid for the call-out but hopefully this will help others 🙂

I hope you see this before you dash out to buy a new fridge/freezer or call an engineer.
I have just had a similar problem with my frost-free Liebherr; posted on this forum just a few days ago under the title:Liebherr Fridge Freezer Temperature Problems . The advice I was given was to switch off, empty the freezer and allow to defrost for 24 hours, as the pipe behind may have become blocked/frozen. It is certainly worth a try (also potentially avoids paying a hefty call-out charge).
I am currently in the process of doing this and certainly I did have some ice on the inside of my freezer which should not have been there. I now also have water collection in the reservoir on top of the compressor, which was not there previously, so hopefully the tube has unblocked.

(Just spotted this thread, which is also well-worth reading and may shed some further light on the problem: Miele kfn 12823 FRIDGE not working but freezer fine – fan??)

Update. Your analysis appears to be accurate, thank you ELDAR59. It would appear that the pipe is probably frozen. I have been told to take the food out of the freezer, defrost for 24 hours then switch back on and test freezing ability using water and a piece of bread.(I had not noticed initially, that the inside back of the freezer had ice on it towards the bottom.) Let’s hope that works, otherwise it is onto the next step: sensor then compressor.
I wish I had posted on here earlier, I could have tried thoroughly defrosting the freezer before paying the call-out fee. Oh well, we live and learn and maybe this post will be of use to others, like me, who do no have a clue. 🙂

Thank you for the reply, ELDAR59. I have someone coming out to see it today, so hopefully it will be a quick fix. (I can see the drain hole in the fridge and that looks fine:I don’t feel qualified to investigate further.)
