ParticipantSorry, I think he’s decided to bite the bullet and buy a new one, budget is £250 so would love recommendations of which to buy or avoid

ParticipantThanks for the advice. I checked out the Beko models instore and unfortunately the shelves are very flimsy so I am back to square one. I’ve looked at Bosch and Neff but unfortunately the lowest price I can get one is about £650 and I didn’t want to pay so much if I can help it.

ParticipantRe: Advice for frost free freezer
I’m considering this one and would appreciate your opinion on it. It is a toss up between this and the slightly bigger one. The only difference I can see, apart from the size and capacity, is the backing material. I obviously would prefer to get whichever is the safest.

ParticipantRe: Advice for frost free freezer
Thanks for your reply. The freezer I was considering is a Beko from John Lewis as they give a 2 year guarantee as standard. They also offer to extend the guarantee to 5 years for £65 which I am seriously considering.
The freezer was previously kept in a utility room at my old house where it was repaired twice. It was cold in the winter but was attached to the house so no real extremes of temperature. I have since moved and it is now kept in an integral garage which again doesn’t have extreme temperatures.

Martin wrote:It could well be the mains filter (Part no. 00600233) that has blown. It is located in the panel behind the mains cable going into the back of the appliance. Access via removal of the RHand side panel.
Be sure and unplug before messing in there!!!! :plug:
I would like to see a very big THANK YOU to Martin for his advice with my dishwasher. Ordered the part and my husband fitted it and its now working fine. Wouldn’t have been possible without your help and advice. Many thanks again 🙂 🙂sylwright

ParticipantRe: Bosch SGS45EO8 dishwasher made loud bang
Many thanks for your advice, it is that, my husband removed it and it is blackened so that was obviously the problem. I am trying to locate this part so that we can get it asap.
Would you be able to help with this?

timdowning wrote:I decided on buying my last house quicker than what you’re taking over which washing machine to get. 🙂
Just go for it.
Incindentally, so did I. But that was before I worked in research. Now I can’t buy anything without looking at all the options. Drives my husband mad.
Would still like to know if the Bosch is a decent machine though 😀

ParticipantRe: Is this washing machine any good?? Bosch WAE24363GB
Thanks very much for the advice, but having measured the space I have this machine is too deep.
Am now considering this machine Bosch WAE24363GB. Some honest advice about its reliability would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Participantkwatt, thanks for taking the time to give me advice. I need a washer for 3 peoples clothes, not heavily soiled, I probably do on average 10 loads a week. I generally use the 30 or 40 degree wash with extra rinses.
Having looked at the advice on here I’ve just noticed a very inexpensive one from John Lewis with a 3 year warranty which seems really good value. Would you see this was ok? http://www.johnlewis.com/230420541/Product.aspx
Thanks again for your advice

ParticipantI am a little confused as the ISE washer has a 1600 spin speed, which according to the articles isn’t needed or indeed much better than a slower spin speed.
I must admit I am tempted to go for a machine that has a 3 or 5 year parts and labour warranty, as at least then I know I won’t have any expense during that time.

ParticipantI’ve read both of the articles you gave the links for and see your point.
So if I was to go for a 1200 ish spin and a 6kg load with a cold fill, which machine would you recommend?

ParticipantThanks for the advice, I thought it would be useful to have a larger drum so I could easily wash duvets, at the moment a single one is fine but double or kingsize aren’t.
I don’t really want to spend more than £400 but would like the best quality machine that I can get for that price. Not too bothered about lots of programs.
I have looked for a hot and cold fill but having trouble finding any. Are they still available?
