ParticipantHi All
To let you all know I am now a owner of a Liebherr freezer I was shopping for. Not only I bought it for a good price and it is working as it should.
Thank you all for your input. Please stay safe and look after each other.Regards

ParticipantThank you Don. With shops trading again the competition is also opening. I received an email this morning from same retailer willing to sell me the freezer for £329. I am awaiting a quote from another retailer. I will let you know.

ParticipantHi Everyone
Shopping for a U/C freezer. Why are prices fluctuating. One online retailer offered me the appliance for £330 as listed on website. I called the retailer to confirm price I and placed my order delivery 5-7 days. Next day I received a phone call from the retailer over night the price had gone up by £20. Friends tell me this practice is becoming common in appliance retailing. Curry’s are known for this. Never used to happen.Talkeetna

ParticipantThank you electrofix. Your explanation clarifies what smart frost is and the fact that Lieherr G1213 has little bit more space. Liebherr appears to be good in comparison with other mid range brands.

ParticipantThank you Don for your response. I am looking at Liebherr GN1066 PREMIUM no frost. A bit pricy for me I think. The other is G1213 smart frost what ever that means. I was led to believe Liebherr make fridge freezers for Miele. Liebherr claim both of these freezers have 3 containers. Actually they are 2 1/2 but then I am not looking for a big freezer. I would appreciate your positive input. I am no longer confident as once I used to be in buying appliances. Recently I bought a bosch washing (replacement for bosch lasted 32 years of hard graft) this new machine is rubbish to put mildly. The other I bought is a fridge freezer (panasonic) another rubbish. I have had more ear bashing over this. Freezer is not big enough hence wanting another freezer. What is your opinion on Liebherr.

ParticipantThanks guys for your input which is spot on. My other half is the main user of the machine. She was away on holiday. When I tried using it I found it complicated with so many programmes which are no good to a lay person as myself. Should have bought a simpler machine but having a bosch previously thinking this will be as good. No its not only full of electronic non sense no good to a lay person. I contacted Bosch via website hoping they would tell me that I am using pre wash on lightly soiled laundry which is not required. Instructions in manual are not clear. Instead they have requested I make an engineer call out just to tell me I am doing something wrong. That is bosch for you. I hope this thing lasts 5 years +. Like everything else the standards of products have fallen including brand names people trusted.

ParticipantRe: New 60/40 split fridge freezer
Thanks All
I agree with your advice. Days of customer service from point of sale to product reliability long gone. I am going to settle for mid range in the 60/30 split which is offered more. I will post what make and model I buy.Talkeetna

Hi SAMURI
Thanks for your response. You are spot on that there could be other component(s) failing. The FF freezer is working at the moment but still makes a cracking sound and every time fridge door opens the circulation fan comes on. That didn’t happen before. I am thinking is it worth spending on (parts) or buy a new FF. What is your opinion of beko FF. I am going to look at one at Local John Lewis tomorrow. I used to be one for quality that brands brought but sadly that is now a thing of the past.Talkeetna
