Thanks very much!
Will give it a go.
If nothing found I’ll get Hotpoint out as its still under warranty…sometimes easier to just fix little things yourself though isn’t it 😉

Hi Again
Well, I did take the sides of the machone off to retrieve the nut from the sensor head that had fallen off! And took the opportunity to clean the fluff out.
Where is the float switch located?
I do clean the condensor regularly as it gunges up very quickly! My missus loves tumble drying everything…….. :rolls:

Hi There
thanks for replying 😀
It only began doing the “empty water” light thing after i took it apart today! It was fine before, except for the fact that clothes weren’t drying fully without running it again after the beep for cycle complete….
Presumably I’ve disturbed something today?
Do you have any idea why it isn’t working very well? It wasn’t too clogged up inside and clother would dry eventually, it just needed to be on for three hours over two cycles!

One other query
I have reassembled it now and tried it just to see. The Drying light comes on and the motor runs but the active light is not on and the “empty water” light is on too.
Does this combination of lights happen just to indicate that the thermostat has gone or have I now screwed something else up? :rolls:
