    Thanks for your reply. I checked everything last night and everything passed with flying colours! I had another look through this forum and found a couple of posts that suggested an airflow problem.

    I had already cleaned the filter and condenser but thought I’d check the filter housing in the door where the air passes down to the condenser. This was absolutely stuffed with fluff from years of hard work. I cleaned this out after removing the housing from the door and put everything back together.

    It worked 😀 😀 !! The dryer is now behaving itself again. I assumed it was an electrical fault, that’ll teach me to assume! Thanks to everybody who helped and to this great forum.

    Right, next job!!

    Hi and thanks for your reply.

    That is hopefully my job for this evening. What should the resistance be and what is the best way to check it? Do I disconnect the wires first? I’m assuming there is more than one element?
