All working now. One last thing: will not securing it as Siemens say you must invalidate the warranty?
EDIT: The machine is positioned (levelled) under a work surface on some board that was underneath the carpet tiles. We didn’t bother tiling under there when we had the kitchen done. After a couple of cycles it is no longer level and is wobbling. If anyone has a solution that doesn’t involve securing it as Siemens ask I’m all ears.

Thanks. I honestly cannot believe I did that. As soon as you said it I knew. It’s not something I’ve done before!

Ah, that would appear to be my malfunction. Will I have done any damage?
I turned it off very quickly.

Well, I levelled it and put it on and as soon as it started spinning it was jumping around like a crazy thing. Would that perhaps be due to the feet not being tightened?

I bought the machine. I really wish somebody had told me it needed securing to the floor with brackets. I have no idea how I am supposed to logistically do this under a work surface. does anyone have any tips?

Just found the 14 for a great price here http://www.rgbdirect.co.uk/Products/Appliances/Washing-Machine/SIEMENS/WM14Q390GB. Have you dealt with them at all?

That’s the one I have open now. Is there any major difference between that one and the WM12Q390GB?

Are they all built to the same standards?
