Thanks a lot for your reply – exactly what I was looking for. Will give it a try this evening.

Do you think I’ll need to remove the on/off switch bank from the machine to connect the cable or can I do it with the switch bank in situ? The switch bank looks fairly delicate so would prefer to avoid taking it off for fear of breaking the little plastic clips that hold it in place.
