Hi,

I have recently experienced exactly the same problem with our Hoover 2605A fridge freezer. It is also almost 3 years old – (2years 10months!!).

I suspect it is the thermostat and have found them online for just £6. I therefore thought it was worth a try. However, I have been unsuccessful in locating the thermostat in the unit. Did you resolve this? I stripped out the control panel on the top of the fridge at the front. I can see the thermostat wires (two wires) disappearing into molded plastic along the top edge of the fridge compartment – running front to back, but cant see how you are meant to access this?

Any clues??
