Many thanks for the quick reply. I suspected this may be case since the motor case bolts have special shaped heads.
I will have to change the whole motor, which I can find online, expensive, but the rest of machine appears as good as new despite 1000’s washes over 10 years. I doubt a recent manufactered machine would last the same without spending £500 +.
