Re: diplomat tumble dryer triping rcd

    seems to be getting weirder!

Took motor to get checked, guy reckoned not much wrong with it.
ran tumble with motor disconnected, no probs….heater ticked as expected.

Reconnected motor, ran tumble………..NO probs again (til next time)
    What is going on?

    Heater hot, rcd trips,
    heater cold, rcd trips,
    heater disconnected rcd trips
    Motor disconnected, heater connected….ok
    heater connected, motor connected….ok

    ????????????????????????

😀 have run machine with element removed and a qualified electrician at hand to ensure upmost safe practise. Machine tripped rcd straight away. Electrician also checked resistance of heating element and all appeared ok. This would appear to discount heating element…….where to next?

Sourced an integrated white knight machine at 199 and wondered if it were say motor whether it was still economical to repair as I have seen a motor advertised at £100?

    Thanks, Tim
