Thanks for the replies guys. I managed to figure out how to take the inner panels out without causing damage. Once defrosted I managed to trace the problem to the rubber valve which connects the drain hole to the pipe which leads down to the evaporation tray. It was like a V at the bottom of the valve and this had a manufacturing defect as it was sealed across apart from a very small hole about 3mm long, no wonder the water couldn’t escape, backed up and froze.

I feel for you guys not having manuals for everything, It’s the first thing I get when working servers and laptops so that you know where all the little catches and screws are.
