    Re: Hotpoint FF78

No, I didnt do this, but this makes sense as when I checked the ‘room temp.’ resistance values of both the thermistors, they were the same as the new parts….so dodgy connections could very well be the main cause pf the problem. Obviously I reseated the connection when I put the new parts in.

I’ll have to go in there again and do this, thanks for the tip!

    Cheers,
    Tom.

    Re: Hotpoint FF78

Just to close this thread down….I fitted both the thermistors supplied by ukwhitegoods over the weekend.
It was fiddly, but eventually got them in.
Put everything back together, switched on the power and all is working well!
Thanks again for the excellent forum.
    Tom.

    ….PS….
The pics that refer to the fitting of the evaporator thermistor just appear as ” squares with red crosses inside” on my computer, and I cant open/see them?…Anybody else getting this problem?
They are on page 6 of the “Mistral Temperature problems” thread
    Cheers,

    Hi Penguin45,
    Thanks for the reply.
I did have a look through the postings…having had a second look its a bit clearer. The deal is that I have to do this job next Sunday (assuming the parts arrive in time) and I havent got the fridge here (I’m staying away from home at the moment) so I wanted to try and visualise everything in my mind before I started!
This may be a daft question, but I assume you access the thermistors from the back of the fridge/freezer and not through some internal panel actually in the front freezer compartment itself?
I’m pretty sure replacing the thermistors will cure the problem having read the forum, I just want to make sure I know how to physically get at them. 🙂
    Cheers,
    Tom.
