The repair’s academic. I failed.
If anybody wants an unused fix-kit cheap, let me know. It should arrive with me in a few days… Just in time for the old fridge to be taken away.

Folks,
I seem to have the same problem – or, at least, I think I do.
c.9yo Bosch KGV3120GB/01, started suspecting it was getting less cool in the week – but noticed that the bulb was staying on half-brightness. Removed the bulb, but it was definitely getting less cool – and it’s now definitely definitely not playing.
I rebooted it yesterday, and it kicked back in for an hour or two, enough to white-over the top freezer element on full-whack plus super*, then stopped again. Leaving the power off for several hours then back on hasn’t seen a peep from it yet.
So – even though I’ve ordered the 491415 kit from here, I’ve got hold of a set of destructions from a previous poster here – and got in to the control panel.
There’s four wires to the thermistor connector block – paired turqoise/plain chocolate and blue/brown. I’m assuming the former’s the ambient sensor, the latter the fridge sensor. They appear to be sensible values – 10kOhm on the fridge, 17k on the ambient.
This, plus the flaky bulb behaviour plus the browny-burny marking on one section of the control panel make me wonder if it’s not quite the same problem. Thoughts?

Unless the control panel’s a decent price? A quick google finds similar part numbers – mine’s 9.981.310.017-5, I can find -2 and -7. Interchangable?
<edit: Oh, wait – found it listed for Siemens – http://www.qualityelectronicrepairs.co. … elK_1.html >
Worth ordering? The image shows similar singing to mine…Still, it could have happened at a worse time of year, I s’pose… Not much risk of the milk going off in minutes flat…
