Thanks for the explanation. I’ve referred to the manual again and also looked at the fridge and I definitely don’t have a drain plug. Well, according to the picture in the manual I don’t. By the looks of it the drain plug is on the floor of freezer. The floor of my freezer doesn’t have any ice and is plastic. There is nothing that is removal to reveal a plug so I guess it’s somewhere different.

I’m going to defrost on Saturday – after I’ve bought lots of towels to soak up the thawed ice!

Thanks ever so much for your replies. (I was only saying I’d throw the fridge out because I can’t fit any food in the freezer coz of the ice! I won’t if I can defrost it properly).

Do you know why I haven’t got one of those drain plugs which is referred to in manual? Do they make some models without them?

I have another problem too. There’s a hole in the back of my fridge and it has this bit which collects water. There is also a lot of ice (sometimes water) on the bottom of the fridge. Do you know how I can sort this out? Do you think it’s related to my freezer problem and it will stop when it has been thoroughly defrosted?
