For example in the last 10 ovens i’ve been called to with no heat, only 4 have had a faulty element.
We advise people to check things first or get someone to check for them in the hope of stopping them buying the wrong parts & wasting money, if you check back through some of the posts you’ll find many occasions where people have bought parts without checking & it has’nt cured the problem, so they’ve wasted they’re money. What is your problem? Getting a little tetchy aren’t we! I don’t really want to elaborate on my original post. I would lay odds it WAS the element given the symptoms. It would be helpful if the original posters would respond when the problem has been solved it would stop all these silly retorts. No problem, specialist. Its just that in my humble opinion it is 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time that the oven element is the fault. I agree there are “other” things that can go wrong. The problem with forums is people tend to defend their responses as if they have been personally criticised. I did say you were giving sound and cautious advice did I not? 😉 If it is your daily job then fine. No hard feelings. I am a spark and every oven problem I have ever attended has always been the element at fault. Just my opinion. No doubt I will eventually find the 1{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} that isn’t.

Hi. Whilst Specialist has given sound but cautious advice, really there is little else other than the failed oven element that gives rise to the symptoms described. It is 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} certain to be the cause.

ParticipantRe: Prestige combi oven / Microwave
The appliance has developed an earth leakage fault which is causing the RCD to trip on the fuseboard. Microwave ovens are specialistrepair and there is little a DIYer can do. This type of fault will have no affect on fuses.

ParticipantRussell I would agree with your diagnosis that the oven thermostat has failed. Replacement is not too difficult. Oven timer I am not too sure. Probably easier to do both jobs at the same time as you will be part dismantling anyway.

ParticipantHello skip. From your description the fan motor has failed. The oven element is circular and won’t provide correct amount of heat inside the oven without the fan. Whirlpool part no. 481236118447
