I’m sure it’s getting better the more washes we do.
A BIG THANK YOU for all the help received, and thanks again for this forum, it’s excellent.
Saved us a huge bill, even though, out of the five different motors they fitted to my model, our one had the most expensive brushes! Isn’t that always the case? We’re still quids in though.

The motor goes zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz as it spins. The old brushes were curved to match the armature, the new ones are square. Just wondered if they need a bit of time to bed in and take on the curve of the armature.
But I’m just glad it’s working again.

Hi, We have replaced the carbon brushes, the old one’s just had a couple of mil left on them. Thank you very much for your help.
After installing them the motor is very noisy. Do the brushes need to bed in?
Thanks again.

Ok, here’s an update. Left it alone for a day, then tried a spin. The drum started moving, but with lots of arcing from the motor, lots of crackling and lots of blue light.
So is this the motor, or the brushes? Can it be fixed, or does the motor need replacing?
As ever, all help appreciated.
