Hi folks, i have just had my washing machine fixed, i was having the same problems as you all are havingmachine starts, then stop after about 5 min lights start flashing. the problem you have is a faulty heater element part number ELE9114, THE ELEMENT IS MADE BY ARISTON.
easy way to find out is take your machine out, remove the power cable from the wall,socket. At the back of your machine there is a panel about 12″ x 16″ held on with 6 screws, once removed you will see the element use a multi meter and check the 2 terminal to see what you get out voltage wise. i have just replaced my element tonight tested my machine now working fine.
the part should cost you no more that £26
